Drawstring Backpack
This backpack is a wonderful and versatile bag for daily use or travel! It is a lined bag with a zippered front pocket, so this is a perfect project to learn or perfect some new sewing skills.
Students should know how to use their sewing machine and should have completed at least one sewing project. This is an advanced beginner/intermediate sewing class. Refunds will not be given for students who do not know how to use a sewing machine.
Required Materials:
Sewing machine and all accessories
Zipper foot
scissors
rotary cutter/cutting mat
thread
Required Fabric:
1 Yard Main (a thicker fabric than regular cotton is best - see our Japanese cottons in the shop for this)
1/2 yard lining
18" zipper
rope for drawstring
*ALL SUPPLIES ARE TO BE PROVIDED BY THE STUDENT. STUDENTS SHOULD PROVIDE THEIR OWN SEWING MACHINE (LIMITED RENTALS AVAILABLE). STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE 10-15 MINUTES EARLY TO SET UP MACHINES AND MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ALL REQUIRED SUPPLIES. LATE STUDENTS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE ACCOMMODATED OR GIVEN REFUNDS*
