Intro to Applique the Lori Holt Way

Beginning Applique! Learn how to applique the easy way using interfacing and Lori Holt’s Sew Simple Shapes. You will learn a simple method for creating the shapes. You will make two blocks: one will be appliqued by machine and one will be appliqued by hand. Each block will measure 12.5” unfinished.

Sewing machine and extension cord

Basic sewing supplies (rotary cutter, rulers, scissors, seam ripper, etc.)

White thread

Lori Holt Sew in Interfacing from Riley Blake

Lori Holt Bloom Sew Simple Shapes Set from Riley Blake

1-2 White/Neutral Fat Quarters (for the background)

Assorted Scraps and/or Fat Quarters for making shapes and sashing

Applique thread and Size 11 Straw Needles
