Half Square Triangle Workshop with Theresa

Half square triangles are one of the most common and versatile quilt blocks. Learn to make this basic block quickly and accurately. You will learn the “magic 8” quick piecing technique and use a slotted triangle ruler to trim. Bias, pressing and matching points will also be discussed.

After you make several practice blocks we will play with layouts and discuss some of the endless possibilities of this block.

This is a skill learning class, not a start a project class.

Materials list:
Sewing machine
Thread
Pins
Pencil or washable marking pin
Rotary cutter and small mat
Ruler
1/2 triangle slotted trimmers for triangles
Scissors
Fabric. Scraps and leftover layer cakes will work. We will cut them into 10” squares.
Optional Thangles papers
Sandpaper
1/4 seam ruler

CLASS POLICIES

Students should read requirements, supply lists and skill level prior to signing up for a class.  We are unable to issue refunds to students who show up to class unprepared (ex. - takes a quilt class, but hasn't yet learned to use their machine).  If you have any questions regarding skill level or supplies, please give us a call!  We would be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns.

*Class Cancellation Policy*
Cancellations or changes to a class must be made no later than 7 days prior to the class.  Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to the class are not available for refunds or store credits.  Our class numbers are limited, and and such we need time to begin advertising the vacant seats in the class.  We appreciate your understanding on this matter.
*CLASS LATE POLICY*
Classes start promptly on time.  Students are expected to arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up their sewing machine and make sure they have the required supplies listed in the class description (all supplies are the responsibility of the student unless specifically listed as provided by the shop).  Students may purchase anything they need for the class on the day of the class prior to the star of class for a 15% discount.  Students who are 15 minutes or more late may stay for class but may not be able to fully participate in the class.  The instructor will not be able to cover missed material.  Refunds will not be given for late or no-show students.
