Introduction to English Smocking

English smocking is a form of hand embroidery where a hand stitched design is sewn onto pleated material.  The material can then be sewn into clothing or other items such as Christmas ornaments.

Join us to learn all about smocking from how a smocking machine creates the pleats to how to read a pattern and create a design.  During this 3 session class students will make an egg shaped Christmas ornament while learning the process and how it can be applied to other projects.

Our instructor, Ann, has been smocking for over 40 years and is excited to share her knowledge!

No smocking experience is necessary.
